First Washington Gas tries to hike rates in Virginia, now it's the District's turn.
I personally like how Washington Gas asked for the increase right before Christmas. I bet they hopped the local press wouldn't cover the story due to the holidays.
I really hope DC media report why the gas company needs more money, considering how much they've cut costs operationally. Washington Gas no longer cares about their customers or employees, it only cares about making money and lining the pockets of its shareholders and executives...
Washington Gas is seeking a rate increase of nearly eight percent in the District of Columbia. If approved, District customers could see their annual gas bills go up by an average of nearly $102 a year. The company's rate hike would add nearly $8.50 to the average residential customer's monthly bill.
